You don't need to read music to find every C on the piano

Most people sit down at a piano, stare at 88 keys, and decide they are "not musical."

The map is the black keys.

They come in groups of two and groups of three. Always.

The white key immediately to the left of a group of two black keys is C. Every C on the instrument lives in that same spot. Walk from the far left to the far right and hit only those keys. You just played every C on the piano.

The white key to the left of a group of three black keys is F. Same trick.

That is the whole geography. Note names, chords, and songs all hang off those two landmarks.

If you can find C without looking at a chart, you can start. The rest is 10 minutes a day and not quitting in week two.

I wrote a 12-lesson path from that first C to Ode to Joy — both hands, no teacher, no sheet music required on day one.
