1. Extract the Files

The downloaded file is a .zip folder, so the game will not run until it is extracted.

• Right-click the file Need For Speed Most Wanted Black...

• Select Extract All...

• Choose a location (Desktop or a Games folder)

• Click Extract and wait for it to finish

2. Launch the Game

Open the extracted folder and look for:

• speed.exe or nfsmw.exe

• It usually has the NFS logo icon

Double-click the file to start the game.

3. If the Game Does Not Start

• Go to the official Microsoft DirectX End-User Runtime page.

• Download and run the installer. It will scan your system and "fill in" the missing legacy files.

• Right-click the game .exe and choose Run as administrator

For Windows 10/11 compatibility:

• Right-click the .exe → Properties

• Open the Compatibility tab

• Enable Run this program in compatibility mode

• Select Windows XP (Service Pack 3)

4. Extra Notes

The Black Edition usually includes bonus cars and extra challenge events already unlocked.
