Green water is a living bloom, not a stain, and the reason most recoveries fail is that the bloom is killed without the food being taken away — so it returns within a fortnight and the owner concludes the pool is beyond saving. We test phosphates first, strip them, then carry chlorine high enough for long enough to finish the algae rather than merely bleach it. The floor is vacuumed to waste, not back through the filter.
