The 3 mistakes every beginner makes in the gym (and how to fix them)
I've been a PE teacher for years, and I see the same patterns over and over when people start working out.
Mistake #1: Going too hard, too fast.
You don't need to destroy yourself on day one. Your body needs time to adapt. Start with 3 sessions per week, 30-40 minutes each. That's it. Build the habit first, then build the intensity.
Mistake #2: Skipping the basics.
Flashy exercises look cool on Instagram. But if you can't do a proper bodyweight squat, push-up, and plank with good form, nothing else matters. Master the fundamentals — everything else becomes easier.
Mistake #3: No structure.
Random workouts = random results. You need a plan that progresses week over week. That's exactly what I built with Powerful Fitness — a structured beginner program that takes the guesswork out of training.
If any of this sounds familiar, you're not alone. Most people figure this out the hard way. You don't have to.
