Most "budget" EDC gear is garbage. I've tested dozens of compact chargers, multitools, and tech accessories — here's what actually survived daily use without falling apart.

1. A solid USB-C cable that bends without breaking. Skip braided cables that fray at the connector. Look for reinforced strain relief and 100W PD support.

2. A multitool that fits in your coin pocket. If it's bigger than a key, you won't carry it. The sweet spot is 4-6 tools with a real blade and a bottle opener.

3. A 10,000mAh power bank under 6oz. Anything heavier and it stays home. GaN charging tech has made this possible — there's no excuse for carrying a brick anymore.

4. A magnetic phone mount that doesn't scratch. MagSafe-compatible, microfiber contact surface, one-hand release. Should cost under $15.

5. A compact flashlight with USB-C recharging. 500+ lumens, pocket clip, tail switch. CR123A batteries are dead — if it doesn't charge via USB-C, skip it.
