The 3 ROAS killers most agencies ignore
I've audited hundreds of ad accounts across Meta, Google, and TikTok. The same three problems show up in probably 80% of them.
1. Attribution window mismatch. You're optimizing for 7-day click but your sales cycle is 21+ days. Your platform is telling you campaigns are failing when they're actually your best performers. Fix: align your attribution window to your actual customer journey, not the platform default.
2. Creative fatigue blindness. You're looking at CTR and CPA but not tracking creative decay rate. A 2% CTR that was 4% two weeks ago is a problem. Most agencies don't catch this until ROAS has already cratered. Fix: track performance delta week-over-week per creative, not just absolutes.
3. Budget allocation by gut. "This campaign feels like it's working" is not a strategy. If you're not running incremental lift tests or at minimum using a structured budget reallocation framework, you're leaving money on the table. Fix: move 15% of budget weekly from bottom 20% performers to top 20% — mechanically, not emotionally.
These aren't advanced tactics. They're fundamentals that get ignored because agencies are too busy putting out fires to build systems.
That's exactly why we built Open Roaz — tools and frameworks to catch these problems before they eat your margin.
