If we sign an HVAC company in Richmond, we stop taking on competing HVAC companies in that market.
A lot of the strategy involves deciding which services to prioritize, where to expand and how to compete with the businesses already ranking there.
I don't want to be making those recommendations to two direct competitors while knowing both of their plans and budgets.
There's also the work itself. When we find a useful opportunity in your market, I want our team focused on helping your company take advantage of it.
Taking on another shop down the road would put us in the position of helping it compete against work we're already doing for you.
So we agree on the trade and market we're protecting at the start. Once it's taken, we turn away competing businesses in that market.
