5 things your local business website is probably getting wrong
I've built websites for dozens of service businesses — plumbers, dentists, salons, contractors — and the same mistakes keep showing up.
1. No clear call to action above the fold.
If someone has to scroll to figure out how to contact you, you're losing leads. Your phone number or booking link needs to be front and center, visible in under 2 seconds.
2. Stock photos that look nothing like your business.
Trust is everything for local services. Use real photos of your team, your work, your shop. Even a decent phone photo beats a generic stock image.
3. No Google Business integration.
Your website and your Google Business profile should work together. Embed your reviews, keep your hours synced, and make sure your NAP (name, address, phone) is consistent everywhere.
4. Mobile is an afterthought.
Over 60% of local searches happen on phones. If your site loads slowly or looks broken on mobile, you're invisible to most potential customers.
5. Zero social proof.
Testimonials, before/after photos, case studies — these convert browsers into callers. Put them on your homepage, not buried 3 clicks deep.
If any of these sound familiar, we fix exactly this at Webcraft Agency. Custom sites built specifically for local service businesses that actually bring in customers.
