The real reason construction projects blow their timeline (it's not the crew)
Ran logistics and site crews on developments for years before starting SP Lixin Group, and the pattern is always the same: it's almost never the labor that blows the schedule. It's the handoff.
A framing crew finishes early but the lumber delivery is 3 days out because the freight company and the site foreman never synced calendars. A pour gets delayed because rebar cleared customs but sat in a yard with no dispatcher assigned. Multiply that across a project and you lose weeks — not because anyone underperformed, but because construction and logistics get run by two different companies with two different priorities.
The fix isn't hiring harder. It's collapsing the handoff — one team owns both the crew schedule and the material/freight schedule, so nothing waits on an email reply between two vendors.
That's the whole thesis behind what we're building at SP Lixin Group: one point of contact for site work AND hauling/freight on the same project. If you're a developer who's felt this pain, happy to compare notes — drop a comment.
