The AI prompt mistake that's costing you hours

Most people use AI like this: "Write me a blog post about marketing."

And then they wonder why the output is mid.

The problem isn't the AI — it's the prompt. Vague input = vague output. Every time.

Here's what actually works:

Be specific about the role. Don't just say "write copy." Say "You are a world-class direct response copywriter who specializes in B2B SaaS."

Define the format. Tell the AI exactly what structure you want — bullet points, email, 3 variations, a thread. The more structure you give, the less editing you do.

Include your context. Your audience, your tone, your constraints. "Under 120 words, no jargon, end with a CTA" turns a generic output into something you can actually use.

Stack prompts. Use one output as input for the next. A blog outline → full draft → social thread → email sequence. One idea, four assets.

I packed 100+ prompts like this into a single resource — tested across thousands of use cases for marketers, freelancers, creators, and founders.

If you're spending more than 5 minutes tweaking AI output, your prompts need work, not your AI.
