The 5 fastest ways to add 50+ CRS points (that most applicants miss)
Most Express Entry applicants leave 50-100 CRS points on the table without realizing it. Here's what I see over and over:
1. Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) = +600 points
This is the cheat code. A PNP nomination essentially guarantees an ITA. Most provinces have tech, healthcare, and skilled trades streams with lower requirements than you'd think. Ontario, BC, Alberta, and Saskatchewan are actively inviting.
2. IELTS score improvements = up to +40 points
The jump from CLB 8 to CLB 9 in all four bands is massive. Most people score CLB 9+ in reading and listening but leave points on the table in writing and speaking. A 2-week focused prep course can be worth thousands in immigration consultancy fees.
3. French language proficiency = +50 points
Even a basic TEF score (NCLC 7) alongside your English gives you a huge bonus. You don't need to be fluent — conversational French gets you there. This is the most underused hack in Express Entry.
4. Canadian work experience = +50-80 points
One year of skilled Canadian work experience adds points in multiple categories. If you're already in Canada on a work permit, this is compounding every month.
5. Spouse/partner factors = up to +40 points
If your partner has strong language scores, education, or Canadian work experience, you're leaving points behind if they're not optimized too.
The difference between getting an ITA and waiting another 6 months usually comes down to knowing where your points gaps are and closing them strategically.
That's exactly what PRScore does — calculates your exact CRS score and tells you the highest-impact moves to make next.
