5 website mistakes that are costing small businesses customers
I've built websites for dozens of small businesses and the same problems keep showing up. If you have a website (or are about to get one), avoid these:
1. No clear call to action. Your homepage should tell visitors exactly what to do — call, book, buy. If they have to figure it out, they'll leave.
2. Slow load times. Every extra second costs you ~7% in conversions. Compress your images. Skip the fancy animations. Speed wins.
3. Not mobile-friendly. Over 60% of traffic is mobile. If your site looks broken on a phone, most of your visitors are bouncing.
4. Missing contact info. Your phone number and address should be on every page. People want to know you're real.
5. DIY design that screams DIY. There's nothing wrong with starting simple, but if your site looks like a 2009 template, it's hurting credibility. First impressions happen in 0.05 seconds.
If any of these sound familiar, it's probably time for an upgrade. Happy to answer questions.
