Why we stopped waiting for customers to come to us
Ran a phone repair counter for years before realizing the real bottleneck wasn't skill — it was logistics. A guy with a shattered screen doesn't have 45 minutes to sit in a shop waiting room during his lunch break. He needs it fixed before his next meeting.
So we flipped the model: instead of a storefront, we go to the customer. Home, office, coffee shop parking lot — wherever. Same certified repairs (screens, batteries, charging ports), zero commute for the customer.
A few things we learned building this:
Speed sells more than price. People will pay a premium to not lose half a day.
Trust is the real product. Anyone can swap a screen — showing up on time, in a branded shirt, with a receipt, is what gets you the referral.
Subscriptions change repair economics. A monthly "device care" plan (discounted repairs + priority booking) turns a one-off $49 job into recurring revenue and repeat customers.
If you're in a service-based repair or install business, on-demand + membership pricing is worth testing before you sign a lease on a storefront.
