Most AI product ads fail for a boring reason
The product in the ad is not the product on the page.
That is the whole problem. The lighting looks expensive. The scene looks editorial. The bottle is a slightly different bottle.
Shoppers notice. They may not say "this was generated." They just bounce, because the thing they were promised is not the thing they can buy.
If you sell physical products on Shopify, treat AI as a production assistant, not as a product designer.
A working rule:
Photograph the real SKU first
Lock shape, label, color, and material in the prompt
Change only scene, crop, and lighting
Reject anything you would not put next to the PDP
I built Real Product AI Ads around that rule. It is a $29 one-time course for store owners who need creatives that still look like the catalog.
If you only take one thing: do not spend media budget on a product that does not exist.
