Most beginners don't lose VA jobs to experience. They lose them in the first 8 lines.

I keep seeing the same applications.

"I am a hardworking fast learner. I can do Excel, Canva, social media, customer service, and anything you need. Please hire me."

That tells a busy owner nothing. They already have 40 of those.

If you have no remote experience, stop competing on effort. Compete on clarity.

Do this instead:

  1. Pick two services, not twelve. Email + calendar. Or data entry + weekly reporting. That's a job. "I do everything" is not.

  1. Attach proof. A fake inbox SOP. A 15-row lead tracker. A one-page weekly recap. Made in an afternoon. Beats a paragraph about being motivated.

  1. Mirror the post. If they asked for HubSpot updates, your first line should mention HubSpot updates — not your life story.

  1. Offer a small start. "I can do a 10-hour trial week" is easier to say yes to than "hire me full-time."

The people who get replies look like they already work like a VA. The people who don't, look like they want to become one.

If you're applying this week, rewrite your first 8 lines before you send another one.
