Why most Roblox games fail in the first week

You spent 3 months building your Roblox game. You hit publish. You get 12 visits and zero return players.

Sound familiar? Here's why it happens and how to avoid it:

1. You built what YOU wanted, not what players want.

The most successful Roblox games solve a simple problem: "What's fun to do for 20 minutes?" Before you code anything, study the top games in your genre. What hooks players in the first 30 seconds?

2. Your game has no loop.

Players need a reason to come back. If your game is a one-and-done experience, your player count will flatline. Add progression — levels, currency, unlockables, daily rewards. Something that makes them think "I'll come back tomorrow."

3. You're not marketing at all.

Building it is 50% of the work. The other 50% is getting eyeballs on it — Roblox groups, YouTube devlogs, TikTok clips of gameplay, collaborating with other devs. Most devs skip this entirely.

I started Roblox Dev Academy to help devs avoid these mistakes. Step-by-step development, game reviews, and growth strategies. If you're serious about making a game people actually play, come check it out.
