1. Matching the print to the couch. Your art shouldn't blend in. It should create tension. If the room is cool-toned, try a warm abstract. Contrast creates conversation.

2. Going too small. A 12x16 over a king bed is a crime. Scale matters. When in doubt, go bigger. A single oversized piece beats a scattered gallery wall every time.

3. Ignoring the frame. The frame IS part of the art. A cheap black frame can kill an incredible print. Match the frame material to the room's hardware — brass fixtures? Gold or natural wood frame.

4. Playing it safe with "hotel art." Your clients hired you for a reason. Skip the generic landscape. Find prints with personality — something that makes someone stop and look twice.
