5 Screen-Free Activities You Can Set Up in Under 2 Minutes

Your toddler is melting down, you need 10 minutes, and your instinct is to hand them a tablet. No judgment — we've all been there.

But here are 5 things that work just as fast and actually build skills:

1. The Tupperware Drum Kit (6mo+)

Pull out 3 containers and a wooden spoon. Done. They'll bang on it for 20 minutes while developing rhythm and motor skills.

2. Ice Cube Rescue (2+)

Freeze small toys in an ice cube tray. Give them warm water and a spoon. They'll "rescue" the toys and learn patience and problem-solving.

3. Tape Lines on the Floor (1+)

Painter's tape in zigzags on the floor. Toddlers will walk along them like a tightrope. Balance + focus training disguised as a game.

4. Sensory Bags (3mo+)

Ziploc bag + hair gel + glitter or small toys. Tape it to the highchair tray. Babies go wild pressing and squishing. Zero mess.

5. The Cardboard Box (any age, honestly)

Give them a box. Crayons optional. A box is a car, a house, a spaceship, a cave. It just works.

These are just a taste — the full Screen-Free Activity Guide has 100+ ideas organized by age group, from 3 months to 6 years. Homemade and store-bought options for every situation.
