Why most productivity systems fail (and what actually works)
I tried every productivity app. Todoist, Trello, Asana, Apple Reminders, you name it.
Nothing stuck. Not because the tools were bad — but because they all solved ONE problem while ignoring the rest of my life.
My tasks were in one app. My goals in a journal. My finances in a spreadsheet. My habits nowhere.
So I built what I actually needed: a single Notion system that handles everything.
The PARA method changed everything for me:
Projects — active things I'm working on right now
Areas — ongoing responsibilities (health, finances, home)
Resources — stuff I'm learning or collecting
Archives — completed or inactive items
But PARA alone isn't enough. I combined it with practical trackers for habits, deep work, meals, workouts, finances, and side hustles — all connected.
The key insight? A productivity system only works if it's simpler than the chaos it replaces.
That's why I made Second Brain Life OS ADHD-friendly. No complex databases. No 47-property tables. Just clean, minimal, and actually usable.
If you've been stuck in the cycle of setting up a system → using it for 3 days → abandoning it → repeat… this might be your way out.
