The 3 slide templates every corporate workshop syllabus needs
The 3 slide templates every corporate workshop syllabus needs
A corporate workshop fails when the syllabus is a pile of talking points. Buyers, L&D, and attendees all need the same three slides: why this room exists, what we will do together, and how we will prove it worked. Build those three first. Everything else is decoration.
Use this as a one-afternoon outline. Then run the workshop, or enroll in the 14-Day Course Sprint if you want full script templates and slide kits ready to drop into your deck.
---
Template 1: Outcome and stakes (open the room)
Job of the slide: Make a manager comfortable sending people, and make attendees know what “done” looks like.
Put on the slide (one screen, no paragraphs):
Workshop title in business language, not course-speak
One measurable outcome (skill + situation + evidence)
Who this is for, and who it is not for
The cost of not solving it (time, risk, revenue, or rework)
Session length and format (live, hybrid, with practice)
Copy you can steal:
Outcome: “By 4:00 PM, each participant can run a 12-minute client discovery call using our 5-question script and capture a next-step on one page.”
Not for: “This is not a product tour. If you do not own a client conversation this quarter, skip it.”
Facilitator note: Say the outcome out loud in under 30 seconds. If you cannot, the outcome is still a theme, not a result.
---
Template 2: Timed agenda with practice blocks (run the room)
Job of the slide: Prove this is a workshop, not a lecture. Every block needs an activity, not just a topic.
Put on the slide:
Block | Minutes | Participant action | You do |
|---|---|---|---|
Frame | 10 | Write the current pain in one sentence | Restate the outcome |
Model | 15 | Watch one worked example | Think aloud |
Practice 1 | 25 | Do the skill in pairs | Coach 2–3 tables |
Debrief | 10 | Share one miss and one fix | Capture patterns |
Practice 2 | 25 | Repeat with a harder case | Raise the bar |
Transfer | 15 | Write the first on-the-job use | Assign the 48-hour proof |
Rules:
At least 50% of clock time is participant work
Name the artifact they leave with (worksheet, script, checklist)
Put break times on this slide so nobody wonders when they can leave
If a block has no participant action, cut it or turn it into a demo plus a 5-minute try.
---
Template 3: Proof, transfer, and next step (close the room)
Job of the slide: Give L&D something to report, and give attendees something to do on Monday.
Put on the slide:
Success check: 3 observable behaviors you will see in the room
Rubric: what “good” vs “not yet” looks like on the artifact
48-hour transfer: one real task, one owner, one due time
Support: who they ping, and where the templates live
Optional path: the longer program if they need scripts, slides, and coaching
Copy you can steal:
Success check: “Each pair delivered a discovery opener, asked all 5 questions, and wrote a next-step the client could accept.”
Transfer: “Run one live or recorded call using the script. Send the one-pager to your manager by Wednesday 5 PM.”
Do not close on “thanks” and a logo. Close on proof.

Exercise you can finish today (45 minutes)
Pick one workshop you already sell or want to sell. Fill a single page:
Outcome line (Template 1): skill + situation + evidence, one sentence
Six-block agenda (Template 2): minutes, participant action, artifact
48-hour transfer (Template 3): real task, owner, due time
Then send that page to one colleague and ask only: “Would you send a team to this?” If they hesitate, fix the outcome line first, not the visuals.
