Put the camera where the trouble is. Put the panel where the sun is.
It’s the most common problem our customers run into. The best spot for the camera — under an eave, inside a carport, on the shaded side of a shed — is the worst spot for a solar panel. So you end up choosing between good coverage and a charged battery.
This cable means you don’t have to choose. Run the panel up onto the roof, out past the tree line, or around onto the north-facing wall, and leave the camera exactly where you want it.
Why you might need one
Shaded mounting spots. Under eaves, verandahs and carports are ideal for cameras and useless for panels.
Winter sun. A spot that charges fine in January can sit in shadow all through June.
Tree cover. Move the panel past the canopy without moving the camera.
Sheds and outbuildings. Camera inside on the door, panel outside in the open.

Good to know
Five metres is enough to get a panel up onto a roof, out past a tree line, or around onto a north-facing wall from almost any camera position.
Any cable run carries a small amount of voltage loss, and this one is no exception — but a panel in full sun on the end of five metres will always charge better than a panel sitting in shade right next to the camera.
