Why most hair serums don't work (and what actually does)

Most drugstore hair serums are basically silicone + fragrance. They coat your hair to make it feel smooth, but they're not doing anything for the actual strand.

Real repair comes down to 3 things:

1. Penetrating oils, not coating oils

Argan, jojoba, and rosehip actually absorb into the hair shaft. Dimethicone just sits on top. If your serum feels slippery but your hair still breaks — that's why.

2. Protein balance

Damaged hair has gaps in its keratin structure. You need lightweight proteins (hydrolyzed keratin, silk amino acids) to fill those gaps — but too much protein makes hair brittle. It's a balance most brands ignore.

3. Heat protection that's actually tested

"Heat protection" is an unregulated claim. Any brand can slap it on the label. Look for serums with evidence of thermal shielding up to 450°F.

That's exactly what we formulated Serum Hair around — penetrating actives, balanced protein, real heat protection. No fillers, no fragrance masking cheap ingredients.

If your hair is thinning, breaking, or just not bouncing back from damage — you probably don't need a whole new routine. You need one product that actually works.
