I spent 2 years making every mistake possible before my blog started making real money. Here's what would've saved me a lot of time:

1. Your niche doesn't have to be "unique" — your voice does. Stop trying to find the one topic nobody's writing about. Write about what you know, but make it sound like YOU. That's the unfair advantage.

2. SEO is not optional. I ignored it for a year because it felt "too technical." That year cost me thousands of readers. Even basic keyword research changes everything.

3. Email list > social media followers. I have posts that went viral and brought zero long-term readers. My email list? Those people come back every single week.

4. Monetize earlier than you think you should. I waited until I had "enough" traffic. There's no such thing. If 50 people read your blog, some of them will pay for value. Don't leave money on the table.

5. Consistency beats perfection every time. One imperfect post per week beats one perfect post per quarter. Your first 20 posts will be rough — and that's exactly how it's supposed to work.
