Beginners do not fail at AI. They fail at picking a job.
Most people learning AI start in the wrong place.
They pick a model. Then a tool. Then a tutorial. Six weeks later they have notes, no product, and a quiet sense that they are "behind."
You are not behind. You started with the wrong unit of work.
The unit is a job, not a model.
A job looks like this: a specific person, a painful task they already do, a result they can recognize in 10 seconds.
Freelance designer → messy brief → client-ready proposal
Student → lecture notes → exam questions
Shop owner → the same 12 customer questions → instant answers
A model is GPT. A job is "turn this into that."
If you cannot name the person and the "this → that," you do not have a product. You have a hobby.
The test I use: can I demo a useful version in 7 days, with one input box and one output? If no, the idea is too big. Cut it until the answer is yes.
Ugly and used beats elegant and private. Every time.
If you are stuck, write the job in one sentence and post it. I will tell you if it is shippable.
