I've edited hundreds of short-form videos and the pattern is always the same — creators spend hours filming but zero time thinking about the hook frame.

Here's what actually works:

Visual pattern interrupt — Start with motion. A zoom, a cut, something unexpected. Static talking head = instant scroll.

Text hook on frame 1 — Not a title. A question or a bold claim. "This took me 3 hours" > "How I edit videos."

Audio mismatch — Use a sound that doesn't match the visual. Your brain tries to resolve the conflict and you stop scrolling.

The edit IS the content for short-form. If your videos aren't growing, you don't have a content problem — you have an editing problem.
