Clippers: how money actually moves

Read this before you join so you do not treat pending views as a paycheck.

Nothing pays until four things are true

  1. A host has funded a campaign (there is no live one until that happens).

  2. You finished training, including the quiz.

  3. Your cut follows that campaign’s brief and we approve it.

  4. Verified views clear the minimum on that Content Rewards campaign.

The rate is on the campaign, not in this post, not in a DM, not “industry standard.” Pending, estimated, or screenshot views do not count.

You will not get paid for

  • A podcast you found yourself

  • A recut of another clipper’s post

  • The wrong platform

  • A 90-second cut on a 15–45 brief

  • A caption you rewrote

What to do while there is no live brief

Finish training. Practice 15–45 second hooks on your own footage if you want. Do not submit random shows. Campaign Briefs is jobs only. Questions go in Clipper Q&A.

When the first brief goes up, the clippers who already passed the quiz get the work. That is the whole advantage of joining now.

How we pull clips from a 50-minute episode

Here is the actual pass we run on a long episode, so hosts know what they are buying and clippers know what “a moment” means.

Say the guest says, at 14:12: “We fired our whole ads team and revenue went up.” That is a clip. The next two minutes of how they did it is a second clip. The joke at 31:40 is a third. The intro, the ad read, and “thanks for coming on” are not.

We mark timestamps like this

  • 03:40 — a number (“we went from 400 to 9,000 subscribers”)

  • 14:12 — a claim that can stand alone

  • 22:05 — disagreement between host and guest

  • 31:40 — a punchline that still makes sense with no setup

  • 41:18 — a story turn (“that was the week we almost shut it down”)

Each cut is 15–45 seconds, one idea, hook in the first 3 seconds. If you have to explain who the guest is before the point lands, it is not a clip yet. Start later.

What we do not mark

  • “Today on the show we talk about…”

  • Recaps of the last episode

  • Soft questions that take 40 seconds to ask

  • Anything that only works if you heard minute 1 through 13

Hosts: if your last episode has none of those moments, say so before you buy. Some interview shows are all rapport. Those are a bad first campaign.

Clippers: when a brief lists timestamps, cut those first. Do not hunt for a “cinematic” open. The line is the open.

"Shorts don't work in my niche"

Usually that means the shorts were the full episode with a title card, or a 60-second recap that still assumes the viewer already cares.

Short-form is not a worse version of the show. It is one idea, aimed at someone who has never heard you, posted where they already scroll.

What tends to fail

  • The whole thesis in one clip

  • Inside jokes, timestamps, “as we said last week”

  • Soft opens: music, logo, the guest’s full bio

  • Posting once, getting 400 views, and calling the platform dead

What we cut instead

  • One claim, one number, one disagreement, one story turn

  • Face or waveform on screen, captions on

  • A caption that matches the brief, not a new slogan every post

  • The same cut native to TikTok, Reels, or Shorts, only the platforms you listed

You are not buying “going viral.” You are buying posted clips plus a views report so you can see what actually happened on your footage, in 30 days, under rules you wrote.

If your niche is slow (law, finance, medicine, B2B interviews), say that in the brand rules. We still cut the same way. We just do not fake a dance hook on a tax episode.

Comment the niche and whether you have posted shorts in the last 90 days. We will tell you if Launch Campaign is a fit.

Who we take as a first host (and who we turn down)

Launch Campaign is not for every show. We would rather start one campaign we can actually run than take five that stall on footage.

We take you if

  • You published a new episode in the last 30 days

  • You have at least one full episode we can open without requesting access

  • Short-form is missing, inconsistent, or just the full episode chopped with no hook

  • You can write three brand rules: required caption, required mention, words we never use

  • You can name TikTok, Reels, Shorts, or a mix. “Post everywhere” is not a rule

We turn you down, or delay, if

  • The only asset is a Spotify link or a trailer

  • You want us to clip someone else’s show

  • You need a follower count written into the contract

  • You cannot send files this week

  • The show is audio-only and you insist on talking-head cuts (waveform clips are fine if that is the brief)

Reply with the show name, the last episode date, and “footage is ready” or “footage is not ready.” If it is ready, Launch Campaign is the first 30 days. If it is not, do not buy yet. Clippers cannot start on a promise.

What Showcuts is not

Read this before you join or buy.

Not a clipping course that promises income. Clipper Hub is free access to briefs, training, and paid campaigns. You earn after a cut is approved and the views clear that campaign's minimum. No brief means no payout.

Not a viral guarantee for hosts. You are buying posted clips, review, and a views report. We do not sell a follower count.

Not a place to drop random podcasts. Clippers: only the footage on a live brief. Hosts: we run campaigns you fund, not free samples on whatever show you like.

Not freelance matching. You do not pick one editor and hope they post. A campaign has a brief, multiple clippers, review, and pay per 1,000 verified views.

If that still sounds like what you need: clippers join Clipper Hub and finish training. Hosts start with Launch Campaign and send source footage before we open the brief.

The first 3 seconds. This is what gets rejected.

Most bad clips fail before the viewer decides if they like the show.

We reject

  • Intro music, logos, or "hey guys welcome back"

  • A question with no point in the first line

  • Two ideas in one cut

  • A 70-second ramble when the brief said 15–45

  • Captions that do not match the brief

  • A watermark, extra music, or a platform the brief did not list

What we approve

  • The claim, number, disagreement, or punchline in the first 3 seconds

  • One idea

  • Face or waveform on screen, captions on

  • Length and caption copied from the brief

  • Public URL on the platform named in the brief

Clippers: watch your last export muted for 3 seconds. If you cannot tell what the clip is about, do not submit it.

Hosts: this is the bar your campaign runs on. If you want a different hook style, put it in the brand rules when you send footage.

Hosts: send footage we can actually cut

Clippers cannot start on a trailer, a Spotify link, or a private Drive they cannot open.

Send

  • Full episodes, not highlight reels

  • Google Drive, Dropbox, or unlisted YouTube

  • Permission set so we can view without requesting access

  • A simple list: episode title, date, URL or file name

  • Brand rules in writing: required caption, required mention, words you never want, platforms we may use

Do not send

  • Audio-only if you want talking-head clips (we can still cut waveform clips if that is the brief)

  • 40 files named IMG_2048

  • "Use anything on the channel" with no links

  • A competitor's footage

  • Rules that change in Slack after the brief is live

If you are on the fence, reply here with how many episodes you have ready. If it is at least one full episode, Launch Campaign can start as soon as the files open.

Clippers: if a brief's footage link 404s, post in Clipper Q&A. Do not substitute some other podcast.

"I already have an editor"

Good. Keep them on the episode.

Showcuts is for the part most editors never do: turning that episode into 15–25 posted shorts, every week, on TikTok, Reels, and Shorts, with someone checking each cut against your rules.

An editor on retainer usually delivers files. Files in a Drive folder do not get views. A Showcuts campaign pays clippers per 1,000 verified views after we approve the post. You get a views report. Unused cuts do not sit in a folder.

Use Launch Campaign if

  • You record long-form and short-form is inconsistent

  • You have footage ready this week

  • You want 30 days to see if the system fits your show before a monthly retainer

Stay on Monthly Distribution if

  • You already know you want this every month

  • New episodes keep coming

  • You want brief updates as new footage lands

Reply with the show name and whether short-form is "never" or "sometimes." We will tell you which product to start on. You still have to send source footage before clippers start.

Launch Campaign, week by week

This is what the first 30 days look like so nobody is guessing.

Before day 1

You send: show name, footage (Drive or unlisted YouTube), and brand rules (what to say, what never to say, caption, mention). No footage, no brief.

Week 1

We write the brief from your episodes, post it in Campaign Briefs, and open it to clippers who finished training. First submissions come in. We reject anything off-brief.

Week 2–3

Clippers post on the platforms listed. We keep review going. You can comment on a brief if a rule needs a clarification. Do not post your own jobs in that forum.

Week 4

Campaign winds down against the terms we set together. You get a written views and clip report. If it worked, Monthly Distribution is the retainer. If you need more volume, Scale Distribution.

Launch is the proof month. It is not a custom agency build and it is not unlimited revisions. Approval, minimum payout, and budget caps follow the campaign terms.

Comment your show and platform if you want this scoped for this week.

How one episode becomes 20 clips (and what we actually check)

This is the process we run on every Showcuts campaign, so hosts know what they are buying and clippers know what gets approved.

From the episode

We pull 15–25 moments that can stand alone: a strong claim, a story turn, a disagreement, a number, a punchline. Each one has to make sense if the viewer never heard the show.

The cut

  • 15–45 seconds unless the brief says otherwise

  • Hook in the first 3 seconds (the point, not the intro music)

  • One idea per clip

  • Captions on, face or waveform on screen, no extra music unless the brief allows it

  • Caption and mention copied exactly

The platforms

TikTok, Reels, and Shorts, only the ones listed on that campaign. Same cut, native post, no watermark.

The review

We check the brief, the footage source, the caption, and the public URL. If it is off-brief, it does not go to payout. If it is approved, you earn on verified views after the campaign minimum.

Why this converts for hosts

You are not paying for "content." You are paying for posted clips with a views report. Unused talking-head footage stays unused until someone cuts it and hits publish.

Hosts: comment your show and we will tell you if Launch Campaign is the right first step.

Clippers: finish training so you are ready the day the first brief goes live.
