The 3 mistakes every beginner makes in the gym (and what to do instead)
I've been training for years and coached dozens of beginners. The same three mistakes come up every single time.
1. Program hopping
You do PPL for 2 weeks, switch to bro split, then try full body because some influencer said so. Pick ONE program and run it for 8-12 weeks. Progressive overload only works if you're consistent enough to actually progress.
2. Ignoring nutrition
You can't out-train a bad diet. If you're trying to build muscle, you need a slight surplus. Trying to lose fat? Slight deficit. Either way, get your protein to at least 0.8g per pound of bodyweight. That alone will change everything.
3. Ego lifting
Nobody in the gym cares how much you bench. Drop the weight, slow down the eccentric, feel the muscle working. You'll grow faster and stay injury-free.
If you're a beginner and want actual structured programs + diet plans without the noise, that's exactly what I built ShredLab for.
