The #1 reason retail traders blow up accounts (it's not bad signals)

Most traders lose money not because they picked the wrong coin — but because of how much they bet when they were wrong.

Here's the math nobody shows you:

A -50% drawdown requires a +100% gain just to get back to even.

That's the entire game. Once you internalize this, position sizing stops being a "boring rule" and becomes the actual edge.

3 rules that keep accounts alive long enough to compound:

  1. Risk a fixed % per trade, not a fixed $ amount. Risking 1-2% of your account per trade means a string of 5 losing trades in a row only costs you 5-10% total — survivable. Risking 10-20% per trade means the same losing streak wipes you out.

  1. Set your stop-loss before you enter, not after. If you're deciding where to cut losses while the trade is already moving against you, emotion has already taken over. Pre-commit to the level when you're calm.

  1. Take partial profits into strength. Scaling out at your first target (even just 25-30% of the position) locks in real gains and lets you run the rest with house money. It's the single easiest way to reduce "I had it and gave it all back" regret.

None of this requires a perfect signal. It requires discipline applied consistently over hundreds of trades — that's what actually compounds.

If you want daily entries/stops/targets calculated with this exact risk framework applied, that's what we run in Signal Forge. But even if you never join, apply these 3 rules to whatever you're trading today.
