The 3 things that actually make a TikTok edit look 'viral,' not just edited

Everyone asks me what app I use. Wrong question. It's not the app — it's these 3 things, in order of impact:

  1. Shake presets on cuts, not just cuts on beat. A clean cut on the beat looks amateur now. A tiny camera shake (2-4 frames, eased not linear) on the cut sells the impact. This is the single biggest tell between an edit that looks 'made' vs one that looks 'happened.'

  1. Color grading is a mood, not a filter. Stop slapping a LUT at 100% opacity. I run mine at 60-70%, then hand-adjust shadows warmer / highlights cooler on top. Consistency across a whole video matters more than any single grade being 'perfect.'

  1. Transitions should hide information, not just look cool. The best whip-pans and zoom-blurs are timed to cover a scene change so the cut is invisible. If your transition draws attention to itself instead of hiding the cut, it's decorative, not functional.

I packaged the exact presets/LUTs/shake settings I use into one pack if you want to skip the trial-and-error — but even without buying anything, apply these 3 principles to your next edit and you'll see the difference immediately.
