I've been trading for years, and I keep seeing the same three mistakes destroy beginner accounts. Here's what they are and how to fix them:

1. Trading without a plan

You see a stock moving, you jump in. No entry criteria, no exit strategy, no risk management. This is gambling, not trading. Before every trade, you need to know: What's my entry? Where's my stop? What's my target? If you can't answer all three, don't take the trade.

2. Position sizing too big

New traders risk 10-20% of their account on a single trade because they're chasing big gains. Then one bad trade wipes out weeks of progress. The fix: never risk more than 1-2% of your account per trade. Boring? Maybe. But it's how you survive long enough to actually get good.

3. Ignoring the overall market

You found a great setup on a stock, but the whole market is selling off. Trading against the trend is like swimming upstream — possible, but exhausting and usually unprofitable. Always check SPY and the broader market before entering any position.

Master these three things and you're already ahead of 90% of beginners.
