Most creators chase follower count and wonder why it never turns into money.
Here's what actually moves the needle once you're past the first few thousand followers:
1. Post cadence beats post quality (up to a point). A consistent 5x/week schedule of 7/10 content will outgrow a sporadic 10/10 schedule every time. Algorithms reward reliability.
2. Your bio is a landing page, not a diary. If someone lands on your profile and can't tell what you do and why they should care in 3 seconds, you're losing them. Treat it like ad copy.
3. DMs are the real conversion engine. Comments and likes are vanity. The creators actually making money are the ones sliding into their own audience's DMs and starting real conversations, not just posting and hoping.
4. Collabs > ads, early on. Before you have budget for paid growth, cross-pollinating with creators in adjacent niches (similar audience, non-competing offer) is the highest-ROI growth lever available.
I coach creators on exactly this inside The Growth Collective — group coaching + a community of people doing the reps together. If you want the full breakdown, come say hi.
Ran social for a bunch of coaches and creators, and I keep seeing the same failure pattern:
Week 1: post daily, hyped, engagement's decent.
Week 2: life happens, miss a day, then two.
Week 3: "I'll batch this weekend" — weekend never comes.
Week 4: account's dead again.
It's never a discipline problem. It's a systems problem. Here's what actually fixes it:
Separate ideation from posting. If you're coming up with what to post the same day you post it, you will quit. Batch ideas once a week, execute daily.
Content calendar > content list. A list feels infinite and vague. A calendar has a hard slot for Tuesday at 5pm — much harder to skip.
Repurpose ruthlessly. One long-form piece (a podcast, a YouTube video, a coaching call) should become 5-10 short clips/posts. Stop trying to create net-new ideas every single day.
Track one metric, not ten. Pick either reach or engagement rate and optimize for that for 30 days. Chasing every metric at once is why most people give up — no clear signal of progress.
Outsource the parts that don't need your face. Editing, scheduling, captioning, reporting — none of that requires you personally. The only irreplaceable part is showing up on camera / writing in your voice.
If you're a coach or creator and posting consistently is the thing standing between you and growth, that's literally what I do for people day to day — happy to share more if useful. But even if you never work with me, steal these 5 rules. They alone will outlast 90% of "content strategies."
