They find a rare throw on Facebook Marketplace or eBay. The photos are bad, the description is vague, and the seller doesn't know the difference between a flat bearing and a konkave. They take the risk. The yoyo shows up damaged, or worse — it's a cheap knock-off of a $200 metal.
