The 4 ecommerce tasks you should never do by hand
If you run a store, you already know the pattern. Orders spike. Support tickets spike. You hire a VA. The VA burns out. You hire another.
Most of that work was never a people problem. It was a workflow problem.
Here's the list I tell operators to kill first:
1. “Where is my order?”
Same question, every day. Pull tracking, reply, done. This should fire the second the carrier scans.
2. Out-of-stock replies
If a SKU is gone, the customer should get a restock note automatically — not a 6-hour wait.
3. Refund / return status
Customers don't want empathy copy. They want “received, inspecting, refunded.” Automate the status, keep humans for the edge cases.
4. Repeat-order follow-ups
If someone bought twice, don't make them re-explain their size, address, or last issue. Your system already knows.
If a task happens more than 10 times a week and the answer is always in your dashboard, stop typing it.
That's what Stackrun is for. Not another dashboard to babysit — the thing that runs while you actually operate the store.
