Why most restaurants get branded uniforms wrong (and it's not the design)

Ran the numbers on this before launching ThreadMark: the average independent restaurant re-orders staff shirts every 4-6 months because of turnover, not wear. Nobody budgets for that.

Three things I learned sourcing uniforms for local businesses:

  1. Minimum order quantities kill small operators. Most uniform suppliers want 50+ units. A 12-person cafe doesn't need that — they need 10-15 pieces, restocked as people come and go.

  1. Embroidery > screen print for staff apparel. It survives 100+ industrial washes without cracking. Screen print looks cheap after a month in a commercial laundry cycle.

  1. Turnaround matters more than price. A shirt that takes 3 weeks to arrive is useless if you hired someone who starts Monday. Speed is the actual product.

Built ThreadMark around solving exactly this — small-batch, embroidered, branded staff uniforms for restaurants and cafes, shipped fast. If you're running a food service spot and tired of your team looking mismatched, happy to talk shop.
