3 things I wish I knew when I started coding

I spent months writing spaghetti code before figuring these out. Sharing so you don't have to:

1. Don't memorize syntax — understand patterns.

Every language has loops, conditionals, and functions. Once you get the pattern, switching languages takes days, not months.

2. Copy-paste is underrated.

Seriously. Every pro developer I know started by reading someone else's code and modifying it. That's not cheating — that's learning. The key is to actually read what you pasted and understand why it works.

3. Build ugly things fast.

Your first project doesn't need to be pretty. Ship something that works, show it to someone, and iterate. I've seen beginners stuck in tutorial hell for years because they're afraid to write bad code.

I put together a starter pack of clean, well-commented code snippets specifically for people learning to build. Scripts, themes, ready-to-use templates — stuff you can drop into your projects and actually understand.

What was the hardest part of learning to code for you?
