The 3 Biggest Mistakes Beginners Make in the Gym
I've been training for years, and I see the same mistakes every single time someone new walks into a gym.
1. Doing too much, too fast.
You don't need a 6-day PPL split on week one. Start with 3 days. Full body. Compound movements. Squat, bench, deadlift, rows, overhead press. That's it. Master the basics before you even think about isolation work.
2. Ignoring nutrition.
You can't out-train a bad diet. If you're not eating enough protein (aim for 0.7-1g per pound of bodyweight), you're leaving gains on the table. Track your food for just one week — you'll be shocked at what you're actually eating.
3. Program hopping.
Pick a program. Run it for 8-12 weeks. Don't switch because you saw a cool exercise on TikTok. Consistency beats optimization every time.
