Why 90% of DFS Players Lose — And How to Fix It

Most DFS players build lineups based on gut feel and narratives. "This guy is due." "He always plays well at home." That's not a strategy — that's gambling.

Here's what actually moves the needle:

1. Ownership leverage matters more than projections

If you and 40% of the field have the same player, you need him to outscore his salary by a massive margin just to break even on equity. The real edge is finding spots where your projections diverge from the public.

2. Correlation is not optional

Stacking isn't just a DFS buzzword. Game theory says bringing back the opposing team's pass-catcher in a high-total game creates the variance ceiling you need to win GPPs. Single-entry players who don't correlate are playing with a handicap.

3. Late swap is where money is made

Injury news, weather changes, and lineup confirmations hit between 30 minutes and 5 minutes before lock. If you're not monitoring and adjusting, you're leaving edge on the table.

I break all of this down — with real data and specific plays — inside StatMind every week. If you're tired of finishing in the middle of the pack, come learn how the game actually works.
