The influencer post is planned. The brand shoot is styled. The travel photo was taken 14 times. Even the "authentic" content is engineered to look authentic.

I've been walking American streets with a camera for years. Not to make art — just to document. A guy sleeping on the subway. A family eating outside a diner in Ohio. A kid's birthday party visible through a store window in Queens.

Nobody posed. Nobody knew. Most of them will never see the photo.

That's the stuff I care about. The version of America that doesn't end up on a highlight reel.
