The 3 stitches that unlock 90% of crochet patterns
I've been crocheting for years, and here's what I wish someone told me on day one:
You only need to learn three stitches to make almost anything.
Chain (ch) — This is your starting row. Think of it as laying the foundation for a house. Every project starts here.
Single crochet (sc) — The workhorse stitch. Tight, clean, and versatile. Master this and you can make scarves, coasters, amigurumi — basically anything.
Double crochet (dc) — Taller and lacier. This is how you get those flowy blankets and elegant shawls.
That's it. Chain, single crochet, double crochet. Everything else — half-double, treble, bobble, popcorn — is just a variation of these three.
I teach all of this inside Stitch & Flow, with free tutorials and beginner-friendly PDF patterns for €2.99 each. If you've been wanting to start crocheting but felt overwhelmed, this is your sign. 🧶
