The 3 Inventory Mistakes That Kill FBA Margins

Most Amazon FBA sellers lose money before they even realize it — not from bad products, but from bad inventory habits. Here are the 3 biggest ones I see:

1. Reordering too late. If you're waiting until stock hits zero, you're already losing the Buy Box. Amazon's algorithm penalizes stockouts hard. By the time your next shipment clears, your ranking has tanked and you're fighting to recover.

2. Not tracking landed cost per unit. Most sellers know their supplier price but forget about shipping, prep, FBA fees, and storage. If you don't know your true landed cost, you can't set profitable prices — you're just guessing.

3. Ignoring sell-through rate. Units sitting in a warehouse aren't making money — they're costing you storage fees. If a product isn't moving fast enough, you need to either adjust price, run a PPC push, or cut it from your catalog before long-term storage fees eat your profit.

I built StockPulse specifically to solve these problems. It tracks restock timelines, calculates landed costs automatically, and flags slow movers before they become a problem.
