The number on the front of most fish oil bottles is the weight of the oil, not the weight of the two things anyone buys fish oil for. A 1000mg capsule commonly carries around 300mg of combined EPA and DHA. Ours states EPA and DHA separately, per capsule, in the same size type as everything else — and states the oxidation value, because rancid oil is the real failure mode in this category and almost nobody tests for it publicly.
