Why most sneaker resellers leave money on the table (and how to stop)

Been in the resale game long enough to notice the same mistake over and over: people flip pairs the second a drop lands instead of reading the room.

A few things that actually move the needle:

1. Regional demand beats national hype. A Travis Scott collab might sit for weeks in one city and sell in hours in another. If you're only listing on one platform in your local group chat, you're capping your own upside.

2. Condition photos are your biggest lever. Box corners, tags, receipt — sellers who show all three close deals 2-3x faster than people who just post the shoe. Buyers are scared of fakes. Kill that fear immediately.

3. Timing your exit matters more than the drop itself. Resale value on limited pairs almost always spikes in the first 72 hours, then decays unless it's a true grail. If you're sitting on inventory past that window, you're speculating, not flipping.

4. Bundling underperforming pairs kills dead stock. If something's not moving solo, pair it with a hot item at a slight discount. Clears inventory, keeps cash moving.

Just launched SwapDeck — a marketplace built specifically for sneaker/streetwear resellers who want a dedicated space to list, negotiate, and close deals with people who actually get it (not randoms in a general marketplace app). Free to join right now.

Curious what other resellers here have found moves fastest — regional targeting, bundling, something else?
