Why we turned our regulars into a membership
Running a restaurant, the hardest thing isn't getting new customers through the door once — it's getting them to come back every week. We had loyal regulars who'd been dining with us for years, but we had no real way to reward them beyond a verbal "thanks for coming in again."
So we built Table & Co. VIP Club: a $9.99/month membership for the people who already love us. Members get discounts on every visit, early access to new menu drops and events, and a direct chat line to us for reservations or special requests.
A few things we learned setting this up:
Recurring membership revenue smooths out the slow weeknights — you know a base level of income is coming in regardless of foot traffic.
Regulars want to feel recognized more than they want another discount code. The chat access mattered more than we expected.
Bundling perks (not just % off) made the price easy to justify for members who already spend $40+/visit.
If you run a restaurant, bar, or cafe with a regular crowd, this model translates directly — you don't need an app or a POS overhaul, just a place for your regulars to belong.
