Why Most Enterprise IT Outsourcing Fails (And How to Fix It)

After 18 years and 500+ projects across media, telecom, and tech, here's what I've learned about IT outsourcing:

The #1 reason it fails: You're treated as a ticket number, not a partner.

Most outsourcing providers optimize for volume. They throw bodies at problems. The result? Misaligned incentives, context loss every sprint, and engineers who don't understand your domain.

What actually works:

  • Domain specialization. Your outsourcing team needs to understand TMT infrastructure — not just write code. Media monitoring, content delivery, cloud orchestration, and NOC operations have specific requirements that generalists miss.

  • Embedded teams, not contractors. Staff augmentation should feel like your engineering team grew. Same standups, same Slack channels, same ownership. Nearshore time zones help.

  • Cloud-first from day one. If your outsourcing partner can't also manage your infrastructure, you're paying for integration overhead between two vendors. One team should own the full stack.

We've been doing this from London, Dubai, and Tunis since 2007. Clients include enterprise telcos, government platforms, and media companies running mission-critical systems.

If your team is stretched thin and you need reliable engineering capacity — not another staffing agency — we should talk.
