Why celebrity newsletters are quietly outperforming Instagram gossip pages
Been tracking pop culture accounts for a while and noticed something: the gossip pages with the biggest follower counts are getting the least engagement, while small newsletters are converting way better.
Why? A few reasons:
Algorithms bury text-heavy takes. IG and TikTok reward video, not analysis. If you actually want to understand why a breakup or feud is happening (not just see a screenshot), a newsletter format wins.
Screenshots get deleted, inboxes don't. Pages get their posts taken down constantly over copyright claims. A newsletter can't be censored the same way.
Fans want curation, not noise. There's too much pop culture content now. People pay for someone to sift through it and tell them what actually matters this week.
Started Tea Time Weekly for exactly this reason — a weekly digest of the reality TV, celeb, and awards season drama that's actually worth knowing about, with real analysis instead of just "OMG did you see this." If you're into pop culture and tired of doomscrolling for the same 3 stories repeated 50 times, it might be your thing.
