The 45-Minute Rule: Why busy people don't need more gym time
Most people think getting in shape requires 90+ minutes in the gym. It doesn't.
I'm 19, I've got my fitness qualification, and I've spent the last few years obsessing over training efficiency. Not because I wanted to — because I had to. Between studying and working, I didn't have 2 hours a day to spend in the gym. So I figured out how to make 45 minutes count.
Here's the framework I use for every 45-minute session:
Minutes 1-5: Targeted warm-up
Skip the 15-minute treadmill walk. Do 2-3 mobility drills specific to what you're training. Hip circles before squats. Band pull-aparts before pressing. Done.
Minutes 5-35: Compound movements with supersets
Pair a push with a pull. A squat pattern with a hinge. You're training two muscle groups while one rests. Zero wasted time.
Minutes 35-45: Isolation finisher + cooldown
One targeted exercise for a weak point, then stretch the muscles you just trained. That's it.
The key insight most people miss: Volume matters more than duration. 12 hard sets in 45 focused minutes beats 12 sets spread across 2 hours of phone scrolling.
I built Temple Fitness HQ around this exact principle — structured programs for people who don't have time to waste but still want real results.
