The 3 Habits That Actually Changed My Productivity (Not What You'd Expect)

Most productivity advice is noise. "Wake up at 5am." "Cold showers." "Time-block every minute."

I tried all of it. Here's what actually moved the needle:

1. The 2-Minute Rule (but reversed)

Instead of "if it takes less than 2 minutes, do it now" — I ask: "Can this wait 2 hours?" Most things can. This killed 80% of my context-switching.

2. One decision, not ten

Every night I pick ONE thing that tomorrow needs to be about. Not a task list — a single priority. Everything else is bonus. This removed the analysis paralysis of staring at a 20-item to-do list.

3. Energy auditing

I tracked my energy (not time) for a week. Turns out I do my best deep work between 10am-1pm. Now I protect those hours like my life depends on it. Meetings, emails, admin — all pushed to the afternoon slump anyway.

None of this is complicated. But it took me years of trying complicated systems to realize that simplicity wins every time.

I wrote an entire guide breaking down the systems behind these habits — frameworks you can actually implement in a week, not a month. That's what Clarity Co. is about: no fluff, just what works.
