Just moved in? Here's what I see over and over:

1. Buying furniture before measuring. That sectional looks great online until it blocks your hallway. Measure first, buy second. Always.

2. Matching everything. Your living room isn't a furniture showroom. Mix materials — wood with metal, linen with leather. Tension creates character.

3. Ignoring lighting. One overhead light does not make a room. Layer it: ambient, task, accent. A €15 table lamp can change the entire mood.

4. Following trends instead of your gut. That viral paint color might look incredible on Instagram and terrible in your north-facing living room. Test samples on YOUR walls, in YOUR light.

5. Trying to do it all at once. Your home is a project that evolves. Start with the room you spend the most time in. Get that right. Then move on.
