Quick update for the community š
Been heads down on something useful for you all.
Just finished a deep breakdown of the 4 signals that determine whether AI models like ChatGPT and Perplexity cite your brand ā or ignore you completely.
The short version:
Signal 1 ā Third-party mentions
AI doesn't trust your website about your own brand. It trusts what other sites say about you. Review sites, directories, PR coverage, podcast transcripts. Start building these.
Signal 2 ā Question-answering content
Go through your site and count how many specific questions it answers. Not vague brand copy ā actual answers. "What is X?", "How does Y work?", "What's the difference between A and B?" These are the pages AI loves to cite.
Signal 3 ā Brand consistency
Search your brand name in 5 different places ā your site, LinkedIn, Google Business, Crunchbase, industry directories. Is the description exactly the same? AI builds its understanding of you from patterns. Inconsistency kills visibility.
Signal 4 ā Schema markup
Most of you probably have zero schema. This is the fastest win available right now. Add Organisation schema, FAQPage schema, and BreadcrumbList to your site this week.
Run your Beast Mode report and look at the "Citation Sources" section ā it'll tell you specifically which signals you're missing and in which AI models.
