The 3 biggest mistakes beginners make in the gym (and how to actually fix them)

I've watched hundreds of beginners walk into the gym, full of motivation, and quit within 8 weeks. It's almost never about laziness. It's about doing the wrong things.

Mistake #1: Program hopping

You see a new routine on social media every week and switch to it. The result? Zero progressive overload, zero adaptation, zero results. Pick one program and run it for 12 weeks minimum.

Mistake #2: Ego lifting

Nobody cares how much you bench on day one. What matters is whether you can bench MORE in 3 months. Start lighter than you think. Perfect the movement pattern. The strength will come faster than you expect.

Mistake #3: Ignoring recovery

Training tears muscle down. Sleep and nutrition build it back up. If you're sleeping 5 hours and eating like garbage, you're literally working against yourself.

I wrote The Iron Protocol specifically to solve all three of these. It's a week-by-week system designed for complete beginners — no guesswork, no bro science, just a proven path from "I've never touched a barbell" to strong and confident in 12 weeks.
